2026.07.06

New Study app — a set of AI tools for studying a text. Paste or upload an article, chapter, talk, or notes, then pick a tool. Open it from the app launcher (the grid of dots beside your profile icon). Each tool run uses one daily credit.
Mind Map — turns your text into an interactive concept map. Collapse and expand branches, drag to pan, scroll to zoom, view it fullscreen, and download it as an image. Click any idea to see a one-sentence note and open a side panel that scrolls to and highlights the exact passage in your original text. Switch the whole map between English and 中文.
Quiz — generates a quiz to test how well you understand the material. Choose 5, 10, or 15 questions, multiple-choice or open-ended, and get per-question feedback with explanations and an overall score after you submit.

Live translation in the Editor — the translation now appears as it is generated, with a progress bar at the bottom of the editor showing which part is being translated and an estimated time remaining.
Long documents now translate reliably — the editor packs text into fuller runs (whole sentences and paragraphs up to 500 characters) so short lines and verses no longer each cost a credit, and when the translation service's rate limit is reached it automatically pauses, shows a countdown, and resumes instead of failing.
Pasting a poem or verse with blank lines between the lines into the editor's Chinese source is cleaned up automatically.
New Glossary page — browse the official Humanistic Buddhism glossary and search it in either language, plus a “My glossary” tab where you can view your personal terms and add new suggestions with the Add-term button. Find it from the Glossary link in the header of every page (opens in a new tab).
Wider scope — classical Chinese literature and poetry (文言文、古典詩詞) are now accepted alongside Buddhist texts in the translator, editor, and rewriter.
The translator now points you to the FoGuangAI Editor when your text exceeds the 500-character single-shot limit.

The account page and the “Request a higher quota” application form are now fully available in Chinese — switch the interface language with the EN / 中文 toggle in the header.

Higher-quality read-aloud — the Speak buttons now use a more natural AI voice for both the Chinese source and the translation, with a playback-speed control and a clear loading indicator while the audio is prepared.
The in-context explanation popup can now be dragged anywhere on screen and resized, so it no longer covers the text you're reading — drag it by its header, and resize it from the bottom-right corner. It keeps its size as you work and always stays below the page header so the close button is within reach.

New Editor app — a full rich-text editor for working on translations. Create and manage multiple documents that are saved to your account; type or paste Chinese, or upload a PDF, Word, image, or text file (scanned PDFs and images are read automatically with OCR). Translate the whole document, right-click any highlighted Chinese for an AI explanation of a term in context, run an AI assessment of your draft, look up the glossary, adjust the text size, and export your work to a Google Doc.
New app navigation — a launcher beside your profile icon (the grid of dots) lets you switch between FoGuang AI apps, including the Translator and the new Editor; each opens in its own tab.
Glossary management — admins and assigned language editors can review the terms people add to their personal glossaries, promote them into the official glossary, and add, edit, or remove official terms. Editors can be put in charge of specific languages, and every change is recorded in a full term-by-term history (who changed what, and when).
Admin tools — a Permissions area to add or remove administrators and see who manages which language glossaries, plus an Analytics dashboard showing user activity, translation volume, regions, and glossary growth.

Upload a PDF, Word, image, or text file straight into the translator — scanned PDFs and images are read automatically with OCR.
Your work is now saved automatically and restored if you reload the page.
Copy the source and translation together as a bilingual, paragraph-by-paragraph draft.
Add your own custom glossary entries — your preferred translations are highlighted in the source and applied to your translations.
Live character and word counts for the source and translation.
The Chinese source is now limited to 500 characters per translation.
Clearer spacing between paragraphs in the translation.

Right-click any highlighted Chinese in the translator or editor to get an AI explanation of the term in context.
Translator panels use a fixed 2:3 source-to-translation layout to keep glossary highlights aligned.
